Counter the driving bans

Discussions are spilling over. Driving bans 2019, yes or no. There will be losers, but there will also be winners. The latter should include shares of companies with raw materials needed for e-mobility

Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart are only a few cities in which motorists are likely to be affected by driving bans in 2019. For years, nitrogen dioxide levels have been too high, in some cases much too high. "Transit prohibited" will therefore be more and more often called. However, countermeasures are not simply a matter of driving bans. Countermeasures can only be successful with new technologies. Electric mobility will therefore continue its triumphal march. Probably with increasing dynamism.

Losers in the driving ban jungle, i.e. owners of unauthorised cars, could take comfort in the future. At least with good chances with shares of companies that have promising projects with materials for the construction of electric vehicles. These include, for example, lithium for lithium-ion batteries and platinum for fuel cells. The shares in these emerging technologies are certainly very speculative. But they could be worthwhile in the long term as a small addition to the portfolio.

Millennial Lithium and Sibanye-Stillwater are examples of promising companies with projects that support electro-mobility. Millennial Lithium - https://www.commodity-tv.net/c/search_adv/?v=298600 - has two advanced lithium projects in Argentina. Especially the Pastos Grandes project is always happy with positive news. Production is scheduled to start in 2021.

The opportunities offered by Sibanye-Stillwater - https://www.commodity-tv.net/c/search_adv/?v=298572 - in the field of e-mobility are not obvious at first glance. Platinum and palladium, apart from gold the main products of South Africans, are used in catalytic converters behind diesel and petrol engines. But platinum in particular is also an important catalyst in fuel cells. Fuel cell vehicles in particular are seen as a competitor to battery-operated electric vehicles. In the long term, demand for white precious metals should therefore increase. Since Sibanye has platinum metal projects not only in South Africa and Zimbabwe, but also in the USA, the company could become the beneficiary of a fuel cell upgrade.

In accordance with §34 WpHG, I would like to point out that partners, authors and employees can hold shares in the companies mentioned in each case and therefore there is a possible conflict of interest. Only the English version of these messages applies.
