Golden September

Despite the intensified trade dispute between the USA and China, the price of gold remains at around USD 1,200 per troy ounce

On average, the price of the precious metal rises in September in 54 percent of cases. This puts it in sixth place among the best gold months of the year. Gold still seems to be popular with central banks. Russia, for example, increased its gold reserves again in August, by 28.4 tonnes of gold. They should now amount to 1970.10 tons.

The central banks of other former Soviet republics have also bought gold. According to the World Gold Council, the gold treasures of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan or Tajikistan rose. India, again among the buyers since March, now has 573.10 tons of gold according to official figures. Especially in the last two months, India has had a significant impact on precious metals.

Turkey, Mongolia and Venezuela also made purchases. Venezuelan President Maduro announced the issuance of gold certificates in August to boost public confidence in the currency and also in the government.

According to the World Gold Council, global gold reserves now total almost 34,000 tonnes, 26.7 tonnes more than in the previous month. There are still various countries that do not provide any figures. According to official figures, the USA owns the most gold with 8133.5 tonnes, followed by Germany with 3369.9 tonnes of gold.

Those who, like various central banks, rely on the protection of gold can also access gold or gold stocks such as Revival Gold and Sibanye-Stillwater.

Revival Gold - - is drilling at the Beartrack Gold Project in Lemhi County, Idaho. These extend the limits of the current mineral resource. Drilling will also begin shortly on the neighboring Arnett Gold project and permits have been granted. Revival Gold also owns 51 percent of the Diamond Mountain phosphate project in Utah.

Sibanye-Stillwater - - is one of the major players in the field of gold and platinum metals. The company is active in South Africa and North America. Sibanye-Stillwater is positive about the outlook for gold, platinum and palladium. Group sales in the first half of 2018 were 24 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year.
