Silver refines hard liquor

Silver is not only used for jewellery, coins, bars or in the photovoltaic industry, but also in the production of high-percentage spirits.

For example, in the production of tequila or vodka, silver is used to obtain absolutely pure water through reverse osmosis and carbon filters with silver. The water is distilled several times through silver and platinum filters. This is how spirits producers remove impurities, which serves the taste.

This is just one of many applications of the precious metal that happen in everyday life. Silver plays a very important role in the production of solar cells. A kind of paste made of silver powder is loaded onto a silicon wafer. When light hits the silicon, electrons are released. Silver as the world's best conductive material transmits the current.

Now the power can be used immediately or stored in batteries. The photovoltaic industry is a growth industry. Particularly in the USA, India and China, the number of solar systems is rising extremely every year. Silver also plays a part in the batteries. For example, in the batteries for hybrid and electric vehicles.

Silver prices have stabilised in recent weeks. A decision as to which direction to go in should come soon. In any case, an investment in silver companies such as Endeavour Silver or MAG should always be worthwhile in view of the increasing number of industrial applications.

Endeavour Silver - https://www.commodity-tv.net/c/search_adv/?v=298511 - produced a total of nearly 1.5 million ounces of silver and nearly 13,000 ounces of gold at its silver-gold mines in Mexico in the third quarter of 2018. This is approximately 2.4 million ounces of silver equivalent. With probably five producing mines soon, the company will certainly succeed in becoming a leading silver producer.

MAG Silver - https://www.commodity-tv.net/c/search_adv/?v=298561 - owns 44 percent of the Juanicipio Silver Project in Mexico. The partner is Fresnillo with 56 percent. The start of production is planned for the first half of 2020. It is estimated that the project owns around 200 million ounces of silver.
