A green future - also with hydrogen
Hydrogen will probably be used primarily in the chemical industry, in aviation and shipping and in the heavy-duty sector.
An American start-up wants to make everything possible with hydrogen propulsion a reality next year with a capsule. A capsule is slowly propelled 30 kilometers upwards into the stratosphere by a hydrogen-filled balloon. This would allow recreational astronauts to look down on the earth in a carbon-neutral way. It remains to be seen whether this will happen. In any case, hydrogen is an option for a future with less CO2. Above all, it can be used as a renewable fuel and raw material in certain sectors, for example in the steel industry. Hydrogen does not stop at the defense industry either. A South Korean company wants to produce the tank of the future. It will be powered by hydrogen, fuel cells, batteries and electric motors. Hydrogen buses and hydrogen trucks are already on the road. There are also hydrogen trains and ships. The hydrogen ship that will transport passengers as part of the 2025 World Expo in Japan has already been completed. We keep hearing from car manufacturers that a vehicle with a hydrogen fuel cell drive will be presented.
Jules Verne already wrote in his novel "The Mysterious Island" in 1870: "The energy of tomorrow is water that has been broken down by electricity". In any case, green energy technologies and raw materials such as platinum for electrolysis and battery raw materials for electromobility are needed today, and the trend is rising.
