This is due to advances in the engine, battery and technology sectors. Reaching poorly connected or accessible places in an affordable way, with low emissions to boot, is a nice idea. Test flights are scheduled to run in Spain starting next year. In Barcelona and Santiago de Compostela (known as the destination of the Way of St. James), passenger drones will take off as a pilot project. Responsible for this is the Spanish Public Enterprise for Airspace Surveillance as part of two EU projects.
Drones that bring goods and medicines to rural regions, mostly in Canada, the USA and Australia, already exist. The pilot project was tested on an island in Lake Victoria in Tanzania. Also in Africa, in Malawi drones have been taking over the supply of medicines to hard-to-reach places since 2018, and often at crucial speed. In emerging and developing countries, lives can often be saved in this way. Particularly in the current pandemic situation, drones could be used to quickly and safely deliver vaccines that require refrigeration to their destination.
The use of three-dimensional space for traffic and for the transport of goods and people, is made possible by technologies that succeed on the one hand through public and private commitments, through research and testing, and on the other hand through the use of the necessary raw materials. The air cab still faces some challenges. Fans of e-mobility know that the lithium-ion batteries used in e-mobility, thus the battery raw materials lithium and also cobalt are pivotal.
Millennial Lithium - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4v1dkPPyis, for example, has the lithium in demand in its lithium projects in the Lithium Triangle in Argentina, and they contain lithium of the best battery quality.
Canada Nickel Company - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AaOfkA_AA2s - also specializes in battery raw materials. Its Crawford nickel-cobalt-sulfide project is located in Ontario.
