A company in Chile uses tiny copper stains in disinfectants. The metal kills viruses and bacteria on surfaces and the effect is said to last for a week. Copper in the form of coatings could thus also become a component of new household and industrial products. A copper producer in Chile is already promoting the use of copper in airports or hospitals. Even the mining minister Baldo Prokurica has cleaning agents refined with copper for his office building.
Copper has a continuous antimicrobial effect. Although the use of copper nanoparticles is not entirely uncontroversial when inhaled over a longer period of time, studies have shown that copper is well tolerated.
Copper, the economic metal, is always interesting for investors due to its holdings in copper companies. Currently, the price of the reddish metal has reached a 14-month high. The copper supply is primarily responsible for this. In the largest producing countries Chile and Peru, the number of Covid-19 sufferers, including thousands of mine workers, is very high. And in Chile there is the threat of strikes. For example, copper stocks on the LME, which is always popular, have continued to fall and are at their lowest level since January.
So there are several reasons to take a closer look at companies that own copper in their projects. In British Columbia, the Copper Mountain Mine produces approximately 90 million pounds of copper equivalent annually and Copper Mountain Mining has a 75 percent stake: https://www.commodity-tv.com/play/copper-mountain-mining-updated-feasibility-study-for-little-eva-project/. The company owns 100 percent of the Eva copper project in Australia, which is currently under development.
Aztec Minerals has copper in its Cervantes gold-copper project in Sonoro, Mexico, as well as in the historic Tombstone project (silver, gold, copper, lead, zinc) in Arizona: https://www.commodity-tv.com/play/aztec-minerals-virtual-roadshow-investor-presentation-with-qa/.
