Private financial assets increased by a good eight percent year-on-year. The world's population now owns 431 trillion US dollars. Gold and real assets were included in the survey for the first time. Debt was subtracted. The survey was conducted by the Boston Consulting Group. The increased financial assets need to be preserved, so good investment opportunities are in demand.
Germans saved a particularly large amount of money. The private financial assets of Germans increased by around six percent. Usually, German citizens like to invest in real estate; shares are not as popular but are on the rise. After all, it makes no sense to carry savings to the bank. Although consumption will increase again with the easing measures, possible further uncertainties could act as a brake here.
The fact that the number of the super-rich has also gone up is probably no surprise to anyone. In the pandemic year 2020, for example, around 60,000 were able to enjoy assets of more than 100 million dollars. In the previous year, this figure was around 54,000 super-rich people. In any case, the wealth saved wants to be invested properly, whether a lot or not so much. A well-diversified portfolio should include, among other things, stocks of precious metal companies. Or you can invest in royalty companies, which in themselves ensure risk diversification.
For example, one might think of Empress Royalty. The company takes care of building a portfolio of investment opportunities in precious metals mining companies. In the exploration sector, there are 13 projects, all of which are located in Canada. In addition, Empress Royalty has interests in three other projects in Mexico and Africa.
A royalty company in existence since 2014 is Osisko Gold Royalties. More than 150 royalties and precious metal sales form the basis of the company, which also pays dividends.
