In just one quarter, private financial assets grew by 211 billion euros. Considering the mountains of debt and the steadily increasing money supply, it is somewhat surprising that so many savers are relying on paper money. After all, cash and savings deposits can incur penalty interest. Moreover, inflation reduces the value of savings. Investing part of one's wealth in gold and investing in the assets of gold mining companies would not be a bad idea. After all, gold has proven itself as a store of value like no other candidate.
When the inflation rate is higher than the interest rates on the money market, this usually strengthens the gold price. The year 2012 serves as an example, when the gold price in euro terms recorded a record high (at that time) and at the same time the real interest rate was at its lowest point. There were also times, such as from July to December 2020, when the gold price was able to gain during a deflationary phase. This is because it is not only inflation or deflation that affects the price of the precious metal; other factors can also have an effect.
The monetary and fiscal responses of governments to the Corona pandemic have made gold a highly sought-after investment and driven the price up. Many analysts currently see a major bull market in gold coming our way, greater than happened in 2011 or in the 1970s. So, a few gold mining stocks should not be missing from the portfolio, because when the price of gold rises, these stocks rise with leverage.
That's where you could get involved with Maple Gold Mines. Its Douay and Joutel gold projects are located in the Abitibi greenstone belt in Quebec, a good gold area, and the partner is Agnico Eagle.
