Environmental bonus, innovation premium and a lower tax rate make the decision to buy an electric car easier. The killer argument "electric cars are far too expensive" no longer applies. They are also cheaper to run than a gasoline car. Because recharging is much cheaper than buying diesel or gasoline. There is no oil change and no exhaust emission test for electric vehicles anymore.
In Munich, for example, an electric or hybrid car can be parked for two hours for free and the parking fees there are by no means cheap. Incidentally, the Bavarian state capital is strongly promoting the change to environmentally friendly electric mobility. Streetcars and subways, for example, run electrically and emission-free on 100 percent green electricity. Electric buses are also already on the move. There are about 1,100 charging points in the city area, powered by green electricity.
2020 is regarded as a key year for electromobility, because from 2021 manufacturers face penalties if CO2 values are not met. For the production of these cars to work, a sufficient supply of lithium-ion batteries is needed. These contain lithium, cobalt and nickel. These raw materials are held by Millennial Lithium or the Canada Nickel Company.
Millennial Lithium should soon be able to supply high quality lithium in best battery quality from its Pastos Grandes Lithium project in Argentina.
Nickel, also an important component in the steel industry, is, along with cobalt, the raw material that the Canada Nickel Company has in the ground at its Crawford nickel-cobalt sulfide project in Ontario. In addition, the company is developing nickel, cobalt and iron production processes that can be achieved without carbon emissions.
