Research on a special silver catalyst has been going on for years. The aim is to increase the carbon monoxide yield from carbon dioxide, which is produced by combustion engines. Other useful chemicals can then be produced from it, such as pharmaceutical products or synthetic fuels. A nanoporous silver electrocatalyst is used. Researchers were able to achieve efficiencies of up to 92 percent.

Silver is cheaper than other precious metal catalysts such as platinum and remains more stable. "A promising path for clean energy," according to the American researchers. The process has already been patented. Silver is a special precious metal. Silver is not only processed for jewellery, coins or bars. Silver is also in demand in photography, in the electrical industry as a conductor, in printed circuit boards for mobile phones or computer keyboards, for power lines or reflectors.

Also, in photovoltaic cells, for water purification and in batteries. And for investors, silver shares offer the opportunity to participate in the positive development of silver companies. Here you think of Endeavour Silver or MAG Silver.

Endeavour Silver - https://www.commodity-tv.com/play/endeavour-silver-update-on-parral-and-q2-2019-results/ - scores with four producing silver mines in Mexico and other projects in Chile and Mexico. The recently added El Curso concession is already beginning to show good drilling results (up to 1,182 grams of silver and up to 3.07 grams of gold per tonne of rock).

MAG Silver - https://www.commodity-tv.com/play/mag-silver-juanicipio-development-receives-joint-approval-construction-starts-immediately/ - and its partner Fresnillo are on schedule with the construction of the Juanicipio Silver Project in the Fresnillo Silver Trend in Mexico. The mine is scheduled to go into operation at the end of 2020. Purchase agreements already exist.
