Mining-friendly laws and high-grade silver properties are a clear plus for the success of a silver company. Just like the price of the precious metal or supply and demand. According to the US Geological Survey, Mexico was the country with the largest silver production in 2018. 6100 tons of silver came from Mexico's mines. By 2020, the value of mining there is expected to reach an estimated 17.8 billion US dollars.
The largest silver company in the world, Fresnillo, operates in Mexico. The Juanicipio silver project is being developed together with MAG Silber. MAG Silver - http://www.commodity-tv.net/c/search_adv/?v=299118 - and its partner expect production to start in 2020. In addition, MAG Silver owns 100 percent of the Cinco de Mayo Silver project (a good 25,000 hectares) around 190 kilometers northwest of Chihuahua, also in Mexico.
Endeavour Silver - http://www.commodity-tv.net/c/search_adv/?v=299166, a long-established silver production company, also mines silver at its four Mexican mines. Further projects in Mexico and Chile are being pursued by Endeavour Silver.
Mexico offers the companies operating there not only high silver contents, but also low costs and a very good infrastructure.
In second place among the silver-producing countries is Peru with 4300 tons of mined silver. The country also stands for the highest silver reserves known worldwide to date. Third place goes to China with 3600 tons of silver, followed by Poland. Together with Australia, this is where the largest reserves of the precious metal after Peru are located. In fourth and fifth place, in addition to Poland, Chile, both with 1300 tonnes of silver production each, is in second place. Russia follows with 1200 tons of silver, followed by Australia, Bolivia and Argentina.
The USA produced around 900 tonnes of silver in 2018, putting it in tenth place. Responsible for the silver production were four silver mines and 36 mines, in which the noble metal is produced as a by-product.
