An important topic is of course the presidential election in the USA. The democratic challenger is not yet known. It is difficult to predict how trade disputes will develop. Sanctions against Chinese companies also seem possible. Perhaps a change of personnel will bring more peace in trade relations. This is not known, but risks continue to exist in any case.
The danger of a hard Brexit is not off the table. It would be economically damaging, especially to Britain. Talks will be long and difficult. A great deal of time passes before free trade agreements are concluded. The eleven months set by Great Britain for a free trade agreement with the USA therefore seem too short.
If, among other things, there remains the risk that the economy will cool down or inflation will fall or rise - both could raise doubts about the ability of monetary policy and make the markets nervous, a crisis could loom. Yields on Bunds could then fall further. This would be good for gold, as well as for the shares of well positioned gold companies such as TerraX Minerals or Treasury Metals.
TerraX Minerals - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/terrax-minerals-inc/ - is located in an excellent gold district with its (100% owned) Yellowknife Gold Project in the Northwest Territories. The Yellowknife Greenstone Belt, where the project is located, is known for its precious metal wealth.
Treasury Metals - https://www.commodity-tv.com/play/treasury-metals-infill-and-expansion-drill-programm-for-pre-feasibility-study-which-is-coming-in-2020/ - has seven gold and copper projects in its portfolio. A 15,000-metre diamond drill program is underway at the flagship project, Goliath in Ontario. Best infrastructure and gold mineralization are given here.
